Detached villa with huge garden in unique location, 20-minute drive from Schoorl
This stunning villa has a unique location amidst the "Rijk der 1000 eilanden" (realm of 1000 islands) on a peninsula that borders De Oosterdel nature reserve. You will have an enormous garden at your disposal, with a charming terrace where you can sit outside and enjoy sunny days. The entire area is surrounded by water, so you’ll have to keep a close eye on the little ones. The picturesque village of Schoorl, with its famous climbing dunes, is a mere 20-minute drive away and it is a great place for children to play the day away while you enjoy a nice cup of coffee or delicious lunch at an outdoor café. The entrance leads into the spacious living room with a cosy seating area and a fully equipped, modern, open kitchen. The doors to the garden open out onto the terrace with a stunning view of the expansive garden. On the ground floor, there is a double bedroom with a modern bathroom. The remaining four bedrooms are located on the first floor as well as a modest 2nd bathroom. Zuid-Scharwoude (Langedijk Municipality) was once marshland. For centuries, people lived along the Langedijk, which was mostly made up of canals and gullies. The region was known as the "Realm of a Thousand Islands": the inhabitants transformed the marshes into a fertile island realm by digging out canals. Near the Museum BroekerVeiling, the oldest sail-through horticulture auction in the world, you can hire a boat and sail along the last remaining part of the Realm of a Thousand Islands. Cycling in Noord-Scharwoude is easy as well: at junction 91, you can opt for a cycling route to the nature reserve/recreation area Geestmerambacht. Here, you will find cycling and hiking routes, a swimming lake with beaches and stretches of reeds, and a restaurant. Alkmaar and Schagen are both well worth a visit, too.
