Atmospheric holiday home with covered terrace on the banks of the Rhein.
This attractive holiday home is in the village of Spijk, on the banks of the river Rhine, a stone’s throw away from Germany. This region is also referred to as ‘Gelders Island’. The house has been renovated, but authentic details have been retained as much as possible. There is a spacious kitchen with a separate dining room adjacent to it. The dining room provides access to the covered terrace, which is a lovely place to sit outside. The garden is completely enclosed, so that children and/or pets can play safely. There is a shed in the garden, where you can safely store your bicycles. The ‘Gelders Island’ area is characterised by the river Rhine and its tributaries. This region exudes space and tranquility. You’ll find little rope-pulled ferries across branches of the Old Rhine, kilometres of dikes with traditional dike houses, footpaths and lots of water. The area is perfect for walking and cycle rides, offering some great views along the way. The village of Spijk is on the Pieterpad long distance walk. The recreational lake ‘De Bijland’ is definitely worth a visit for those who wish to go swimming, surfing, sailing or water-skiing. The village of Tolkamer is a nice place to relax on a waterfront terrace. Want to enjoy a trip during your holiday? Visit the beautiful city centre of Nijmegen, go shopping in Arnhem or see all the animals in Burgers’ Zoo. Trips to Germany are also possible; for example to Wunderland Kalkar or Schloss Moyland.
