In Gourdon (11 km) are the caves of Cougnac. Gourdon is a small but welcoming medieval town, with small streets, terraces and a market on Tuesdays (there is also a large supermarket). Through the rolling landscape and along small wooded roads you’ll reach Rocamadour (50 km), an old pilgrim’s shrine, that is built against the rocks. From the fortress you have a wonderful view of the valley. Take the 223 steps down (or take the elevator) and decent 120 metres into the tourist town with tiny streets, lovely shops and the Musée d’Art Sacre Francis-Poulenc, which has a real treasure room!
