Beautiful holiday home with a huge pool!
Beautiful holiday home in a small suburb on the edge of St. Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume. This historic town is, as the name suggests, at the foot of the beautiful Massif de la Ste. Baume. One of the most extraordinary forests in the Provence can be found on this 12 km long massif. The residence, at the right of the photo, has two floors and is semi-detached to the house of the friendly owners. From your own terrace you have magnificent views over the enclosed property and over the Massif de la Ste. Baume in the distance. Via a stone staircase you descend into your private garden (600 m2) where there’s a lawn, garden furniture, loungers and a BBQ. You can also enjoy the lovely landscaped communal garden with a wide variety of vegetation and a pond with a waterfall. Cool off in the large, communal pool (not fenced so not accessible for children < 5 years) with outdoor shower, sun deck and loungers. Winding paths will lead you along a nature reserve with unusual tree species, the Col de St. Pilon (great viewpoint), the monastery of St. Pons which was established in 1205 and the holy Grotte de Ste. Gaume, where Maria Magdalena is said to have spent the last years of her life. She is honoured in July during one of the town’s traditional festivals.
