Le pont du Loup
Romantic converted watermill in a beautiful mountain area near Grasse
This romantic watermill dating from 1872 was transformed into a beautiful holiday home in 2001. The ground floor will be all yours; the upstairs is occupied by a quiet couple who have their own entrance at the back. If you take a peek over the fence, you’ll see the river below, which used to drive the waterwheel. If you look up, you’ll see the peaceful green woods and the beautiful Pont du Loup (bridge over the river). The wheel at the front door and the larger one in the living room call to mind the time when the mill was still in use. Furthermore, the attractive interior is decorated with many antique objects, furniture, and art. The children can enjoy themselves in the private pool, while you do some sunbathing in the garden. This holiday home is located in the Vallée du Loup, one of the most beautiful natural attractions in Haute-Provence. A stunning, mountainous area where the Loup winds its way down and a river with its source in the Montagne de l’Audibergue. As you ride along, you’ll see limestone cliffs, waterfalls, superb vista points, picturesque villages, and houses, which are impressively built into the slopes. The absolute highlight is the Gorges-du-Loup, where the river has carved a deep canyon into the steep rock faces.
