Lady Bird Cottage
Comfortable and modern house in the beautiful Hünsruck region
This holiday home is located on a quiet street in Mastershausen on the edge of the village and close to hiking and cycling paths. It borders fields and forests, which is ideal for families with children and anyone who wants spend time in a serene landscape. There are many tourist attractions in the area. The house has a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with walk-in shower. The first floor features two bedrooms, one has a double bed and the second room has two single beds. A cot or toddler bed is available if you need it. The kitchen leads to a sunny terrace with a garden table and chairs, where you can relax with a glass of wine at sunset. Guests have access to the garden and we have play equipment to keep the little ones happy. The village has two restaurants, a small grocery store, a bank, a cafe, a bakery and a medical practice. As of October 3rd, 2015, a bus takes visitors to Germany’s longest hanging rope bridge – the Geierlay Bridge with a length of 360 m and a height of almost 100 m – between the neighbouring towns of Sosberg and Mörsdorf. There is also a bus connection from Mastershausen to Mörsdorf as well as to the nearby small historical town of Kastellaun (10 minutes by car) and Blankenrath (5 minutes by car). Both offer a number of shops, banks and pharmacies as well as a few playgrounds. The town Kastellaun is very lively with cafes, an ice cream parlour, climbing park, swimming pool and a souvenir shop, and the afternoon is a great time to visit the local castle. From the house you have easy access to the "Madasher Burgherrenweg", a 15 km-long circular route, which is connected to the Hunsrücker Stiegweg. Mastershausen is an ideal location for enjoying the Hunsrück, Rhine and Moselle regions, with easy access to bigger towns such as St. Goar, Zell, Traben-Trabach, Bernkastel Kues and Cochem as well as to the historical cities Koblenz and Trier.
