Gite de Franssu
Charming half-timbered house on quiet waterside between Abbeville and Amiens
Coming up the drive, you emerge at this beautiful 14th-century estate. Its nine hectares contain a country house, a dovecot, a number of outbuildings and a guesthouse. The estate was built on proceeds from farming, and to this day it has been preserved in its full glory. You will be staying in the guesthouse, a charming and authentic little half-timbered house. Fully restored, updated and stylishly furnished in a contemporary country style. The bedrooms boast a spacious layout and have high-quality beds. The adjacent bathroom has both a shower and a bathtub, as well as a hair dryer. The living area is nicely designed with both a dining and sitting area, and the patio doors give you direct access to your own little paradise. From your terrace you look out across your immense private garden and the pond that borders it. It is a delight to simply enjoy the tranquillity that surrounds you here. The estate is 1 km from Fransu village centre. For most provisions it is best to head to Abbeville (20 km) or Amiens, the capital of Picardy (28 km). In addition to its Notre Dame cathedral, the town’s historic centre has a range of boutiques, monuments and museums and, not to be overlooked, the district of Saint-Leu – the "Little Venice of the North". You can be at the coast, with its lovely and pristine sandy beaches, in just half an hour.
