The municipality located in the Eastern Ore Mountains is known for the ski and winter sport area in Holzhau. Your well-maintained holiday domicile is modern and tastefully decorated and well equipped. A wood stove in the living room provides a nice atmosphere at any time of year. In the summer the Holzau hiking area invites you to explore nature on its 130 kilometre-long network of trails. The Kammweg Erzgebirge-Vogtland, the 14-Achtausender-Tour, the European long-distance trail from Eisenach to Budapest as well as numerous regional hiking and themed trails run through here. In the winter skiing fans can experience the fantastic low mountain landscape on 40 kilometres of traced cross-country trails. There is a toboggan lift and a fun park for snowboarders. Downhill skiers reach different pistes for every demand with two tow lifts. But there are also excursions in the area: Frauenstein Castle (12km), Flaje dam in the Czech Republic (12km), Seiffen with toy museum (17 km), Altenberg winter sports centre and summer toboggan run (21km), Freiberg Cathedral (29 km), Deutsches Watch Museum Glashütte (36 km).
