Monumental 19th century farmhouse with stunning views over the Oldambtmeer
This restored farmhouse in the village of Oostwold is a luxurious and attractive group accommodation. The farmhouse has been equipped with all modern comforts including a sauna, jacuzzi and a covered swimming pool with a heated terrace. There are 9 double bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, plus an additional authentic bathroom with bath. The living and dining room are fitted with 19th century panels and shutters as well as original glass doors and outdoor decorations. The holiday home was built on the foundations of a castle – the old walls are still present in the cellar vaults. The farmhouse has been made completely energy neutral and makes use of sustainable energy sources. Solar panels and heat pumps heat the building in winter and cool it in summer. The surroundings are perfect for beautiful walks, cycling tours and canoeing trips. The grassy paths along the streams are open for walkers. In addition to a visit to the pleasant city of Groningen, it’s also worthwhile to have a look around some of the villages in Groningen province and to visit the old fortified town of Bourtange. PLEASE NOTE: You’ll be staying in a rural village. This location is unsuitable for noisy parties. Guests are not allowed to bring their own sound systems or play music outside.
