De Oude Limonadefabriek
Very atmospheric house with historic and comfortable decor in the Voer region
This is one of those rare cases – upon entering your holiday home, you’ll feel like you’re coming home rather than arriving at your holiday rental. And it isn’t hard to see why. The entire house has a lovely, homey feel to it. This is partially due to its heritage – the house was built in 1734 – it has had many functions since then and is now a listed monument. Some of its more peculiar uses included a soft drinks factory and even a brothel. But that’s all in the past and the building is now listed as a Flemish cultural heritage building. The owner has made a real effort to emphasise the historical character of the building, which you’ll recognise when you see the large cupboard doors in the living room or the doors between the landing and the staircase. Another highlight is the open fireplace in the charmingly furnished living room. If you’re staying in summer, you can enjoy the wonderful, sunny terraces on the ground floor as well as on the first floor. This house is located in the Voer region, not far from the beautiful cities of Maastricht and Aachen. The gently rolling hills make this a wonderful area for cycling.
