Detached holiday house in Bavarian Forest – garden, balcony and open fireplace
Come have a feel-good holiday to remember – in any season. Enjoy a stay in Pfaffenzell, part of the community of Wiesing/Viechtach. This traditional detached house was constructed in 1863 as the retirement home for the neighbouring farm and was later thoroughly renovated, though the exterior structure was preserved. This two-storey house has about 156 square metres of total living space. The three bedrooms are all on the ground floor. The bathroom, with its Bohemian vaulted ceiling, is a nice place to relax. Upstairs you will find the large and cosy living room with a comfortable sitting area and a country-style dining nook. You will love spending time together round the open fireplace in the evening. The age of the house is also evident in the height of the ceilings (about two metres in some places). If the weather ever gets bad, there is a small library for the adults and games and DVDs for the kids. You have a wonderful panorama of the mountains of the Bavarian Forest from the balcony. You can quickly forget the daily grind as you relax in the well-maintained grounds, which include a well, an old apple tree and a traditional bakehouse. Of course the house also has parking for two cars, a sunbathing lawn with a terrace, plenty of modern garden furniture and a coal/electric grill. Mountain bike trails and marked hiking paths lead directly past the house. Other activities include boating on the Regen River, fly fishing, horseback riding, introductory golf courses, glider rides and heated pools as well as a natural swimming pond. Favourite daytrip destinations: Czech Republic, Passau (60 min), Deggendorf/Straubing (45 min), Regensburg (55 min), Munich (110 min), Salzburg (160 min). Winter sport areas in St. Englmar, Riedlsstein/Eck or on the Grosser Arber with its Alpine ski runs and Bavarian cross-country ski centre.
